This app is for people who want to save money on their electricity bill and become more sustainable without all the hassle. Sunergy offers dynamic energy contracts and a very smart gadget that does all the saving for you. The gadget can connect and control your solar panels, home battery and EV charger. It finds the optimal moments to use energy or charge your home battery or car. It automatically selects the right source to do so.

— Not for number crunchers.
The focus for this app was to clearly show what your actual savings are. In plain old euros, not abstract kWh's. This app is not meant for number crunchers and fans of statistics deep diving. All you need to know is how much money your smart device (the 'SlimmeRik') saved you in a given timeframe.
— Iterative process
With an innovative product (and a compact timeframe), you need to be able to make fast iterations. No one has the full picture yet and new insights present themselfs on numerous occasions. With 'pressure cooker' sessions we were able to arrive at a feasible MVP within 2 weeks to further designs and plan the development sprints.
— Bringing it all together.
To make this app happen we needed to tie multiple services together. This demanded clear agreements and constant check-ins with all parties involved. Although the lead time was short and the technical complexity high, we kept aiming for the best user experience possible.
— First step
The SlimmeRik app is the first step of a further product strategy. The overall design is set up with room for new and expanded features in mind. We created a design system that ensures efficient design and development of future updates.
